Ponycon: what a magical trip it's been!
I have had the great pleasure to be the Executive Director of Ponycon with my business partner and best friend Keith Butler. Let me begin by expressing that our hearts overflow with gratitude to everyone who has touched our event. We are humbled completely by the dedication and effort put in by hundreds of people to make this weekend an unqualified success.
That being said, Keith and I have decided that this will be our last year to produce Ponycon. I know the level of work that went into pulling this production off and I believe that we couldn’t have done better. The significant personal investment, both financially and of our personal energy, time and health was great and we decided to end our effort on the highest of notes. I believe we set a new standard for conventions across the board. Above all, we hope that our entire production has exuded the values taught by the show we all love.
At Ponycon, one of our core values has been gratitude;
2016 PONYCON!!!Hello fellow Bronies!!!
I'm not a brony. In the future I may or may not be. Either way my closest friend invited me to go with her this year. Upon arriving the first of the three days I could go, I quickly noticed all the amazing cosplay people were in of either their own person OC or a My Little Pony character. Their were a lot of Rainbow Dash and Fluttershy. My friend dressed in a Fluttershy get up. She looked so cute.
There was this main hall. It reminded me of a royal ballroom; There was a giant chandelier in the center with dazzling clear glass and you could see all the floors levels by standing in the center. Here is where I witnessed a fashion show inspired by MLP, talk shows with the creators, voice actors, and founders, comic reading, how to creator an OC, and the ending ceremony.
There were two vending hall areas. One in a room with the ceiling and walls covered in windows to let in more light. The other was a fancy white room underneath the main hall.
